The pupils raised £2010.44 at the Grand Sale – an excellent effort given the slightly lower turnout, due no doubt to the better weather, this year.
Special mention for Mr Milner who coordinated and organised the S1 pupils throughout this event on Saturday in the Community Hall. It is a wonderful opportunity for the children in S1 to take charge of something and see such success. It was great also to see other staff, parents and friends of the school helping out on the day to make this event such a success whether at the door selling tickets, in the kitchen serving fresh pancakes and cups of tea and coffee or on the floor selling at the stalls.
Thanks again also to all the people in the community, small businesses and companies for the donations towards what must be the most extravagant raffle in the county! We all appreciate and are gratified by everyone’s ongoing support of the school for the benefit of our pupils. Whether you provided home baking, books, bric-a-brac, crabs, prawns, whisky and wine or a bicycle thank you.
£1000 will be donated towards Comic Relief and the rest supports the expense of the Nethy Bridge trip in May. This allows all S1 to realise the cost and effort that goes into providing a range of outdoor and social events over the week. And nothing is wasted! The leftover items have been passed on to others who are helping to raise funds across the County for worthwhile causes.
